Simba will be targeting their second successive win in
Vodacom premiership when they host Mtibwa Sugar this weekend at the National
Stadium. They will be seeking revenge for last season double loss to the Sugar
cane processors from Turiani.
This will be their first home match of the season having
played in Tabora and Arusha in the first two rounds of the league. They claimed
their first win of the season in their previous away outing, defeating JKT
Oljoro 1-0 in Arusha thanks to a lone strike from Haroun Chanongo in the 34th
minute of the match.
Simba have warmed up to the tie with two friendlies against
Zanzibar Defending League Champions, KMKM and division one side, Lipuli. All
their key players are available for selection including recent signing, former captain, Henry Joseph Shindika.
Simba next three fixtures: Mgambo JKT and Mbeya City (Both
home), JKT Ruvu (Away)
Mtibwa will also be targeting their second successive win
after downing fellow sugar cane processor, Kagera Sugar a fortnight ago. Under
their long time club lietenants, Coach Mexime and Zuberi Katwila, they will be
seeking to extend their good run against the Msimbazi street giants.
Mtibwa Sugar next three fixtures: Mbeya City (Home),
Tanzania Prison and Ashanti United (Both Away).
Head-to-Head Stats: Simba have won four of their last league
encounters but have lost the last two matches. Mtibwa have not conceded a goal
in their last two meeting.
