On Wednesday, Young Africans and ambitious Coastal Union
will renew their growing rivalry at the National stadium, Dar.
Young Africans opened the defence of the league title by
thrashing 5-1 newly promoted Ashanti United at the same venue last Saturday.
Their next three league fixtures see them take on newly
promoted Mbeya City (away), Tanzania Prisons (away), Azam (Away).
They are placed first on the Vodacom Premier League log with
three points thanks to a superior goal difference after the first round of
matches.
Coastal Union, popularly known as Wagosi wa Kaya began their
league campaign with a 2-0 win away to army side JKT Oljoro in Arusha.
Their next three league fixtures see them take on Tanzania
Prisons (home), Rhino Rangers (Home) and Ruvu Shooting (Home).
Coastal Union are placed fourth after the first round of
matches played last weekend. They were the only away team to emerge with a
victory.
In recent head-to-head stats, Young Africans have won five
of the last six encounters since the Tanga based outfit got promoted to the
Vodacom Premier league. The last meeting between the two ended in a 1-1 draw in a match
that saw Yanga being crowned league champions.
